Last night, my cousin/roommate/best friend/photography extraordinair Katy Ice helped me FINALLY take some photos of my most recent work! And she's pretty amazing if you ask me (click her name to see Katy's Photography's Facebook page). What do you guys think?

That's her! Isn't she pretty?

I've returned to my baby-making ways. These guys are called "Teamwork!"

Cast bronze with citrine!
And last but not least...

Fossilized corral, cast bronze, brass, and sterling silver.
All of this work was made over the 2011-2012 school year during my Undergraduate studies at KU, with the exception of the final piece (the set of 12 rings) which I actually finished just yesterday--and I use that word "finished" in the most lenient way possible. I made this series within the month of June for an independent study, you see. They mainly started out as studies of the forms of fossilized corral, and what happens to these basic shapes as you slowly strip away certain "organic" elements. I went into the project somewhat blind-sightedly, not knowing where I was going with it, and to be honest, I'm still not sure. The concept is ambiguous in my head, and I plan to continue working with these forms and this subject in attempt to clarify my own thoughts. I'll probably just expand on the series and continue to make variations of the form, and I also plan on making some sort of means of display for them--something to make everything a little more cohesive. :] So...stay tuned!
